Lime & Sea Salt: This Week's Daily Habit

4/2/2016

Comments

I'm taking you through the most simple changes you can make to your routine, which give you the greatest results. We'll keep it very simple to understand and follow. I suggest you add each one as we go, for the full week, and before you know it you'll have an eating routine which should help relieve any fat storage, bloating, and lethargy. Like all disclaimers, seek medical advice before trying any new 'diet,' I just want to give you the bare bone absolute basics which gives your health the best bang for your buck!

We're starting with the very first thing in the morning, which is consuming half a lime juice, with water and Hamalyan Sea Salt. It makes sense to start at the start, plus so much benefit can be gained from getting your morning routine sorted - it sets up your body for the entire day ahead.
Why the Lime?
The lime has an alkaline effect on your pH level. At night, our pH drops, so in the morning we're helping it become more alkaline again. Poor eating also has a 'toxic' shift to our pH - booze and processed foods being common culprits; so use lime in the morning to help strengthen your digestive system and restore your pH levels.
We also want some calories entering your body as early as possible to kick start your metabolism. Juice works wonders here because it is easy to stomach (not many of us can chew on solid food first thing in the morning), without causing stress to our digestion (by consuming the fiber there's no need to worry about the fructose in lemons or lime).

Why the Salt?
Salt nourishes your adrenal glands; which are responsible for most of our hormones involved in managing stress (adrenalin and cortisol) and energy levels.

Common signs of adrenal fatigue are:
- you need an alarm to wake up
- you rely on coffee or caffeine products
- physical or emotional (work) stress leaves you feeling drained

Salt also helps absorb water. After a nights sleep the salt will help you rehydrate because you'll be having it with a glass of water - particularly important for those who train in the morning, or those who may be dehydrated from training the night before and inadequate water intake throughout the night.

Lime and Sea Salt Benefits:
- Kick Starts your Metabolism
- Helps restore your digestive system
- Helps restore your adrenal glands
- Helps to rehydrate you after a long night's sleep.

Do This:
Half a lime squeezed in to a glass of water, add 1/3 teaspoon of Hamalayan Sea Salt.
Stir well to help the salt dissolve evenly or the last mouthful will be intense ;)
Consume within 10 minutes of waking up.

Please keep me posted on how you go, and to stay on track, feel free to post your juices to our facebook page and help everyone add this simple step.
